Veteran cybersecurity expert witness executive will help strengthen law enforcement capabilities to prevent, investigate, and prosecute information-age crimes.

Washington, DC — December 11, 2023 — The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) has appointed long-time information-security-industry veteran and cybersecurity expert witness, Joseph Steinberg, to the organization’s Computer Crime & Digital Evidence Committee.

The IACP is the world’s largest and most influential professional association for police leaders; the organization’s Computer Crime and Digital Evidence (CCDE) Committee works to strengthen law enforcement capabilities to prevent, investigate, and prosecute information-age crimes involving digital technologies and evidence, as well as to promote expert collaboration among agencies, government, business, and academia in relation to the same.

As a committee member, Steinberg, who has extensive experience serving as an expert witness in both civil and criminal matters related to information-age crimes, as well as analyzing, validating, and challenging digital evidence related to cybercrimes and other civil and criminal matters, will serve as a subject matter expert from whom the IACP leadership and staff can draw advice, strategic insights, and technical expertise. He will also review relevant materials and initiate topical recommendations.
